Europe First is a community blog for members of the Europe First movement — a space for essays, dispatches, and columns on heritage, sovereignty, and culture across the continent.
Our founder
Matthias Victorian is a Dutch writer and creator. He studied business economics and financial economics at Erasmus University Rotterdam, then worked as a stockbroker in Amsterdam and as a commodity trader in Rotterdam. He still works full-time alongside the project.
He started Code Victorian in January 2025 as an Instagram page about classic European dress, architecture and a more disciplined way of life for young men. Within a year it had grown to hundreds of thousands of followers, and its focus widened to the future of European civilisation. The name describes the aim: “Code” stands for a way of life, “Victorian” is a nod to his own surname.
Code Victorian is deliberately non-religious. Matthias was baptised Catholic, but the project brings together Catholics, Protestants, Orthodox Christians and non-believers alike. Its base is in Budapest.

What we stand for
Code Victorian describes itself as a cultural society: a community of native Europeans, at home and abroad, organising for the preservation of European civilisation. Its members live in twenty-four countries and share four principles.
The society unites people of European descent wherever they live. Living in Europe is not a requirement.
Work happens in correspondence circles, regional gatherings and mutual aid, rather than in outrage online.
Disagreement on the details is welcome. What members share is agreement on the inheritance, not a religion or a party.
Members meet in person at least once a year, write to each other within their circles, and put their phones away when they gather.
